Massimo Perugini
Massimo is recognized across Italy and Europe as a respected teacher and international choreographer of a variety of dance modalities from classical ballet, modern jazz and Afro to contemporary.
In his early career, he was a prize-winning dancer, later participating as artist in a variety of contemporary dance companies, collaborating with notable peers, such as Akram Kahn and Lindsay Kemp, and studying techniques with others. His own body of choreographic works have been performed by various contemporary collectives and training institutions, many dance festivals across Europe, and even diverse challenges such as creating winning synchronised swimming routines for the Italian national team and opening ceremonies for sporting events.
He is currently Artistic Director of OFBALANCE, MAS in Milan, CDMA SPAZIO-52, and founder of another professional programme Program of Contemporary Dance SCDP.
Alongside the creative and artistic career, Massimo has had a long-standing interest in the pedagogical methodology in dance and movement and his broad knowledge of genres proves advantageous. Since 2000 he has worked with numerous vocational and professional institutions in Italy and across Europe, however his educational projects have included an intercultural dance programme for youngsters in Italian elementary schools with patronage of the Lazio Region using a program of music therapy and dance theatre.
Thus, his combined educational and choreographic experience is considered valuable to many international dance competitions and he is frequently invited to participate as jury member. Dance World Cup is honoured to welcome him to the judges’ panel.
