Gaia Mentoglio was born in Napoli, Italy in 1997, beginning her artistic journey at the Art Garage School in Pozzuoli. She continued her education at Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, where she completed her Bachelor's degree between 2014 and 2017 while working with notable figures such as Ohad Naharin and William Forsythe.
From 2017 until 2023 Gaia had a successful career as a soloist dancer with Ballett Theater Basel, under the direction of Richard Wherlock. During this time, she has performed in various choreographies by Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Hofesh Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Marcos Morau, Andonis Foniadakis, Edward Clug and Richard Wherlock, among others.
Since 2023, she has dedicated herself to a freelance dance career, while also serving as a choreographic assistant for Richard Wherlock, gaining further insight into choreography and dance
