Dance World Cup is deeply concerned and saddened by the invasion carried out on our member country Ukraine. Our thoughts are with all Ukrainians during this difficult time.
Dance World Cup Ltd has taken the decision to freeze the franchise agreement that we have with our Russian qualifier organiser, meaning that we will not have a Russian team participating at the DWC world finals in Spain this summer.
We are closely monitoring the IOC advice for Russian participation in future world events, and this will be our stance for the foreseeable future until the IOC advice a change of status.
We remain committed in assisting Ukraine, and we would be delighted to welcome them to the DWC finals in June.
We are still anticipating holding our DWC summer school in Lviv at the end of July. We will however take a decision with our Ukrainian partners if this can go ahead in early May and we are hoping a diplomatic solution or peace has been restored to Ukraine as soon as possible.
Thank you all for your understanding in this very harrowing time for the world and we look forward to welcoming the dancers of the world to Spain in June.
